Police Unity Tour West Midlands Chapter returns for 2026 and seeks police supplier support

Police Unity Tour West Midlands Chapter returns for 2026 and seeks police supplier support

There are approximately 19,655 serving police officers and staff across the four forces of the West Midlands region (West Midlands, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and West Mercia Police).

The Police Unity Tour (PUT) West Midlands Chapter, is a member of the 12 chapter UK network of service police offers and staff who undertake an annual long-distance cycle ride in aid of Care of Police Survivors (COPS). In 2026, The West Midlands chapter is connecting supplier social value from the procurement of goods and services, into the Police Unity Tour. This means that suppliers of goods and services to all four forces can now directly support PUT and efforts to raise money for COPS , and this will be locked-into their contracts as social value.
The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose of the UK tour is to raise funds for Care of Police Survivors, a UK charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers and police staff who have lost their lives on duty. The cyclists join together and finish their journey at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, where a Service of Remembrance is being held by COPS for their fallen friends and colleagues.

Supplier social value from the 4 police forces of the West Midlands region...

For the first time, PUT2026 will see supplier social value from within police contracting of goods and services across the region being harnessed to support the Just Giving operations of the Chapters. Through the infrastructure of the Pluggin Marketplace, suppliers to police forces will be able to contribute social value within supply contracts directly into PUT2026 - which then flows-onto approved national charity Care Of Police Survivors (COPS)
The Pluggin Marketplace is a collaborative social value environment built with UK policing, where suppliers can now bid for contracts with social value which supports PUT2026. The marketplace connect-to supply contracting across the 4 police forces, harnessing supplier social value to communities and promoting the results - establishing sustainable business-based support for charities and social enterprises aligned to local police and community health, safety and resilience objectives.
Mission: Riders cycle to raise money for Care of Police Survivors (COPS), a charity that supports the families of fallen officers. The Ride: Typically a three-day, 180–200 mile journey. At the end of the ride, where possible, the cyclist personally presents this wristband to the officer's family. 2026 Event: Registration is currently open for the 2026 Police Unity Tour, which is scheduled to take place from 6–9 August 2026
