Back in 2014, we pioneered the way to link business marketing with charities for socioeconomic impact.
Our founding shareholder Jaysco Holdings first launched their Activ8Change (later renamed Pluggin) model in Nigeria, supporting federal and state governments and this grew to support communities on 3 continents.
See how a Pluggin model and impact ecosystem concept evolved over a decade...
In 2014, founding shareholder Jaysco Holdings developed a social impact support model called Pluggin.
This encompassed 4 interconnecting operational elements (Activities, Collaborations, Measurement and Promotion), designed to give large international businesses access to the local NGOs (charities) able to carry their brand into the impact being achieved inside communities within target markets - winning hearts and minds.
The model used technology to map-onto local geography, for businesses and charities to engage and commercially collaborate for impact inside a region. Facilitating their collaboration and measuring impact over time and for this evolution to be digitally promoted by the charities via their social media and websites into local communities – building a new brand awareness and tangible engagement for those businesses. Until the pandemic in 2020, this operated as an ecosystem spanning Africa, the Middle East and Southern Asia.

2014 - Beginning: West Africa
Jaysco established the Activ8Change (renamed Pluggin) model inside Nigeria - creating a Full-Circle suit of 4 services for international brands to balance market engagement through NGO-led socioeconomic development.
The model evolved quickly expanded into other nations (Ghana, Uganda, Sudan, South Africa) with the creation of a (version 1) digital Social Impact Register
This brand marketing approach was formalised in regions, to help companies merge brand commercial engagement with corporate social responsibility deep inside communities.
2016 - Expansion
Over the next 4 years, Pluggin relations expanding to include governments and international agencies in Africa, the Middle East and Southern Asia.
The model was renamed "Pluggin" and operated as a regional ecosystem - linked by technology.
By 2020, the term ESG had become a global corporate focus, which Pluggin connected brands with governments and their NGOs through the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

2020 Covid & New Focus
During the long months of global lockdown, the Pluggin model and technology was used to reach and train NGO teams at home in Africa and the Middle East
As the world came out from the lockdown, it was very clear that the traditional ways for these community providers to access funding was going to change dramatically - many charities actually closing down as public sector investments were dramatically cut.
Jaysco's focus returned to the UK, where a social enterprise entity was established called Pluggin Ecosystem Limited, and the Pluggin Model (and technology) re-engineered to meet a very big UK need.
2021 to 2024 - Collaborative Social Value
With an established UK ecosystem now connecting consumer-focused and local business brands with community charity and social enterprise providers in regions, we began to build a way to connect the ecosystem (and this growing number of community provider teams) into the UK's public procurement community (a buying market spending £300 billion annually on goods and services from businesses).
A collaboration began with Thames Valley Police, to create and test a way of connecting procurement and contracting into our ecosystem, which turns business social value into impact collaborations within police buying and contracting, but also how to make the contract social value harnessed, a tangible contribution to wider strategic community safety and development priorities.
The Dual Impact Collaboration Model (DICM) was born...

2025 - UK Growth
In January of 2025, with the new DICM in place, we began an ecosystem scale-up with 44 designated DICM areas of the UK - operated with public buyers within cross-sector procurement and for them to signpost suppliers-into - all from this first Thames Valley DICM pilot.
From 2025, the ecosystem membership scales across 44 areas, public buyers and suppliers now connecting with a host of impact-proven community provisions which are all aligned to the local community safety and resilience objectives of public and elected bodies.
