Worcestershire County Council's commercial team is using market forces within the West Mercia social value marketplace, to help suppliers and partners better align with their Commercial Social Value Charter; positioning FOUR specific community impact projects for suppliers to consider supporting as part of their social value propositions within bids for council contracts.
Meet Maggs
"Circumstances can lead anyone down a path of unhappiness, depression, addiction, homelessness, destitution, or vulnerability. Maggs exists to provide support, safety and kindness to those who need it most."
A registered charity helping the homeless since 1984, Maggs offers essential support to individuals experiencing homelessness and vulnerability across Worcestershire through day centres, outreach programs, and holistic services - providing a safe haven and a pathway towards stability and independence.
Harnessing supplier social value to help tackle the causes and devastating health and safety impacts of homelessness, is a strategic focus for the Commercial Team.
Council suppliers will be able to connect-with and build social value collaborations with Maggs through the DICM and formalise these within their supply contracts; pinpointing how their social value supports day centres providing the basics, the lifelines which help people survive the worst of what life throws at them.
