Newport-based charity The Gap - Wales is dedicated to supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable individuals across Newport. Suppliers to Gwent public authorities can now use social value to support a dedicated 12‑month programme focused upon reducing hardship, preventing exploitation, and strengthening community cohesion through practical support, education, and advocacy.
The team are passionate about working in local communities in Newport, providing support where to people who find it difficult to get the help they need through existing services.
As a charity, they want to "Build our Community" by empowering, equipping and enabling people, so that they can live fruitful and fulfilling lives.
They work with other organisations, statutory bodies, schools and community groups to let people know about the issues faced by some of the most vulnerable people in our society – and how they can help.

In line with the Police & Crime Plan objectives, suppliers to police and wider public bodies can now operate the social value within contracts in collaboration with The Gap - Wales aligned to these objectives, and a process operated exclusively within the Pluggin Marketplace.
