Gwent charity TOGS now being supported by social value marketplace thanks to Gwent police buying

Opened in 2010, the TOG's [Torfaen Opportunity Group] disabled children's Centre in Pontypool is a charity playing a key role within communities, providing needed services to families in Torfaen who have children and young people with physical, learning or sensory disabilities.

This Centre is owned and run by Trustees and Parents, with special youth clubs run by a team of experienced Youth Workers and Voluntary Workers.

TOG's is a self funding local charity, enabling any parent/carer of a disabled child from 8 of 18 years who live in and around the borough of Torfaen to make a self-referral to TOG's for their child to join - they do not need to be referred by any statutory organisation.

Key Services and Activities

The centre focuses on the social and emotional development of children while providing respite for parents and carers.
  • Youth Clubs: Run every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm throughout the year.
  • Summer Activities: Heavy emphasis on outdoor play at local parks or nearby playing fields, including games like rounders, football, and dancing.

  • Specialist Facilities: The centre features its own sensory room for relaxation and quiet time.
  • Community Trips: Monthly Saturday day trips to attractions like zoos, cinemas, bowling alleys, and even residential weekends.

Supplier social value is now resourcing TOGS, to sustain the impact already being made...

In line with the Police & Crime Plan objectives, suppliers to police and wider public bodies can now operate the social value within contracts in collaboration with TOGS - aligned to these objectives, and a process operated exclusively within the Pluggin Marketplace.

Marketplace member businesses can click below to start this process within their bids.
