Social Value Marketplace sees police supplier SYTECH Consultants collaborate in support of safer Thames Valley objectives.

Through Thames Valley Police contracting within the Pluggin Marketplace, featured charity Reading FC Community Trust today established a new social value collaboration with SYTECH Consultants; a major police contractor who have linked their contract social value to violence reduction provision aligned with the objectives of the Thames Valley Police & Crime Plan 2024-2029

This positions contract social value from SYTECH as strategic support of  an established violence prevention service called The Custody Coaches - first launched in 2023 by the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner. Reading FC Community Trust provide this service for at risk young people inside custody suites.

The Trust uses its ability to break down known barriers through their connection to the local community, and by their expertise in engaging with young people when they've been arrested for a violent or weapons offence in four custody blocks within Thames Valley Police.

This social value collaboration between the Trust and SYTECH means that coaches can use a key reachable or teachable moment for young individuals, and a coach can utilise the impact of the arrest as a significant personal event, to prompt positive behavioural change when they are potentially at their lowest, through a provision of mentoring support, hope and an opportunity to access additional support.

"We’re proud to be supporting Thames Valley Police to help drive long-term community safety and resilience through a smarter, partnership-lead approach. Delivering meaningful social value across multiple regions is challenging, but this initiative allows us to deploy value strategically and locally, where it creates real impact."
