Any business supplying into Durham's emergency services, local authorities, NHS and criminal justice services will be diverted to deliver social value into the Pluggin Civic Infrastructure - which is strategically aligned with and support local health, safety and resilience objectives, under the national pillars.
Within the infrastructure is the Pluggin Marketplace, which lists public buyer approved community-led activities from local charities and social enterprises, all aligned with and in support of the long-term strategic priorities of the Police & Crime Plan and Community Safety Partnerships.
In Durham, as with the other 43 areas of the Pluggin Civic Infrastructure, this means that businesses are supporting the local activities linked to strategic aims and priorities set-out by these buying bodies, and their social value is clearly specified within their supply contracts where social value is tracked in real-time.

Now, for Durham communities, public contracting and the suppliers who win these contracts are all driving social value into charities and social enterprises and this establishes the needed resourcing to enhance results and impact.
Established strategic collaboration across the region
Durham is served by one police force, one unitary authority, 13 town councils and 91 parish councils. There is one fire and rescue service, one Integrated Care Board and six Probation Delivery Units covering the area. There are three prisons and one Community Safety and Partnership. Partnership working features within all of the priorities set out in the Police Crime and Justice Plan and underpins most activities and commitments that have been made.

Community Safety Partnership
The partnership provides strategic leadership for all community safety work across the county and is responsible for producing an annual Community Safety Agreement and Action Plan. Suppliers serving public bodies with social value through the DICM, are aligned to the aims and priorities of the Partnership, and are able to cite activities which specifically link to the same aims and priorities.
