Boxing Clever MK originally operated as a Community Interest Company (CIC) established by a police officer as an early intervention program to help young people develop social and emotional skills. The program has expanded to include multiple locations and partnerships with schools and in 2024, converted to a Community Interest Organisation (Charity Number: 1207987).
Boxing Clever Programme
Boxing Clever MK" is a programme that uses boxing sessions and personal development workshops to equip young people with skills like discipline, self-esteem, and resilience, helping them navigate life challenges and positively impact their interactions with peers, school, family, and community.
There are FOUR impact objectives:
1. To reduce youth violence, aggression and exploitation of young people.
2. To establish a safe place to visit for all young people, regardless of their background or circumstances, through collaborative efforts with young people, their families, and the wider community.
3. To empower young people to develop a sense of belonging, life skills and build positive relationships with caring adults.
4. To blend-in educational workshops and training opportunities to help young people gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
The programme is part of the Dual Impact Collaboration Model (DICM) in the East Midlands and Thames Valley; already partnered with Milton Keynes Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner's Community Safety Fund to expand its reach and impact.
Impact collaborations are welcomed with the region's business suppliers to emergency services, local councils, the NHS and criminal justice services to enable the programme to be sustained.
